Welcome
to the official site of the Washington Scottish Pipe Band, best viewed at 1280 x 854.
The Washington Scottish Pipe Band [aka: WASCOTS] is a Grade III pipe band based out of Seattle, Washington.
Under leadership of Pipe Major David Guthrie and Lead Drummer David Keachie, we are a team dedicated to excellence in both performance and competition. Through the promotion and celebration of Gaelic & Celtic heritage, we are also active in music education and offer instruction to pipers and drummers of all ages and skill level.
While it maybe obvious our group focuses solely on pipe band music, what's not obvious perhaps
is the fact that we make up a diverse array of tastes and experiences. From punk rock to classical,
country to rap, folk to trance, reggae to heavy metal, and emo to soul -our members come from all backgrounds of
musical appreciation. The one thing we have in common is our love of Scottish bagpipe music (even though one of us isn't even
Scottish).
No matter what your age, ethnicity, religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, physical abilities or musical taste,
we provide prospective and existing members an exciting journey into the mysterious world of pipe
band life. A celebratory and challenging experience which provides memories, values and skills for a life time.
Take a moment to read through our site. If you have any questions, or would like to learn more, please
don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
Special thanks to past WSPB side drummmer-member Jeffrey Smith, his devoted staff at Smith Design Works, and the American Branding Association for their immensurate assistance in extending this unique chapter of Pacific Northwest musical heritage.
